Bio

Alanna Rizzo is a seven-time Emmy Award-winning sports journalist with over two decades of experience as a baseball journalist. She is currently a contributor to Foul Territory, appearing regularly on Dodgers Territory and Fair Territory with Ken Rosenthal. Alanna also provides national baseball commentary for Blue Jays Central on SportsNet and has been seen on TBS, serving as host for their alternative baseball programming in 2023 and 2024.

From 2021 through 2024, Rizzo was a regular contributor on MLB Network’s High Heat with Christopher Russo, where she delivered insightful interviews with players, coaches, and industry insiders while breaking down league-wide storylines. Her energetic presence and deep baseball knowledge were a perfect complement to Russo’s signature style.

Prior to her time on High Heat, Rizzo spent seven seasons as an in-game reporter and host for SportsNet LA, covering the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a member of the original broadcast team for the network’s 2014 launch, she reported from the field during the Dodgers’ three World Series appearances in 2017, 2018, and 2020. Her work earned her the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association’s TV Reporter Award in both 2019 and 2020.

Rizzo originally joined MLB Network in 2012, appearing on shows like Intentional Talk and Quick Pitch, and covering the 2012 and 2013 MLB All-Star Games. Her baseball broadcasting journey began with ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain, where she served as a host and in-game reporter for the Colorado Rockies from 2007 to 2011, including their thrilling 2007 run to the World Series.

In addition to her work as a journalist, Rizzo is the founder and president of Guidry’s Guardian Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2019. Based in New England, GGF is dedicated to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and the streets by funding medical care, fostering, and adoption efforts. The foundation serves both individuals and other rescue groups across the country.

Alanna lives in New England with her husband Chris, her two wonderful stepdaughters, and their beloved rescue dog, Bentley.
